Chris Korich (World Casting Champion and U.S. Team Coach) and fellow volunteer instructors at Bay Area angling & casting clubs, are helping prepare local kids (ages 9-12) for future fly fishing opportunities.

FUN youth casting sessions will emphasize the following foundational fly fishing skills, conservation and safety education:

• Grip & Stance Alignment (at targets!)

• Roll Casting

• Pick Up & Lay-Down casts

• Line Extending & Retrieving

• Fish hooking, fighting & releasing

• Eye, skin and water safety

While pre-teen instruction will focus on learning basic fly casting skills by performing FUN drills and playing games, we will also be teaching your child about proper tackle use, set-up/take-down, maintenance, and basic knot tying.
